I’m New

New to IBT? We’re thrilled!
Let’s get to know eachother.

EXALT

“In everything we do, we desire to exalt Jesus Christ!  We determine to preach the Word of God correctly and live by it!  We desire to be led by the Spirit of God and to live a life pleasing to our Father!  We aim to do as John 3:30 states, “He must increase, but I must decrease.” Our goal is not to focus on ourselves, but to focus on the greatness of Christ!”   Philippians 2:5-11

EQUIP

“John 8:31 tells us that if we continue (obey) in the words of Christ then we are disciples “indeed” (no doubt).  Our goal at IBT is to train those in the church in the Word of God and encourage them to live as God’s Word instructs.  Not only will this help the believer grow in their faith, but it also will encourage them to reach the “lost” for Christ. Our aim is to teach the believer to be a defender of the Christian faith and to be passionate about sharing their faith.”

ENGAGE

“According to Matthew 28:18-20 we are to go into all the world with the good news of Jesus Christ!   Currently we have over 30 foreign mission works that we financially support on a monthly basis but we also desire to reach our local community.  We financially support 5 local ministries and have 3 free community events each year with the purpose of sharing the love of Christ to our neighbors.  These events are fun and designed to reach kids and families.  We desire to share God’s Word at all times but we also what to share life with people as well.  Sharing our lives will hopefully lead others to want new life through Jesus Christ!

Our Pastor

One of my favorite Bible verses is John 10:10. This verse states, “The thief cometh not, but for to steal, to kill, and to destroy: I am come that the might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.” I love this verse because it specifically tells us what the devil’s plan is and what God’s plan is. The devil’s goal is to steal, kill and destroy and he seems to be doing a great job at that. However, God sent Jesus into the world to give us abundant life and to be made free from the death-grip of satan. My goal, and the goal for The Indianapolis Baptist Temple, is to tell people about freedom and new life with Jesus Christ! We also equip God’s disciples to reach our community for Him. If you are looking for a church like this please come visit and be a part of what God is doing on the Southside of Indy!

  • “But unto the Son he saith, Thy throne, O God, is for ever and ever: a sceptre of righteousness is the sceptre of thy kingdom.” – Hebrews 1:8

Message From Matt – March 13

Wait on the Lord

Have you ever been so discouraged and distressed by what is going on around you that you just want to throw in the towel? The answer for most of will be, yes, definitely!  We live in a world that has a lot of ups and downs in it, but there are times when the downs seem overwhelming!  There are seasons in our lives when the worry gets immense or the pain of loss is too much to bear and we wonder why God has allowed these things to happen to us. …

Message From Matt – March 6

You don’t know what you have….

Recently, I heard once again that old phrase, “You don’t know what you have until it’s gone” and it got me thinking about the great things that we have as believers that we can easily take for granted.  As believers we have been given much, but if we’re not careful,  our relationship with God can become stale.  I think this can happen to anyone and usually it’s because of busyness and pressures of th …

Message From Matt – March 1

Why do we look to Jesus?

“Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God.”  – Hebrews 12:2

I’m doing a message series on Sundays  called “The Process,”  which is a culmination of truths that I have learned along the way that I have …
