I’m New

New to IBT? We’re thrilled!
Let’s get to know eachother.

EXALT

“In everything we do, we desire to exalt Jesus Christ!  We determine to preach the Word of God correctly and live by it!  We desire to be led by the Spirit of God and to live a life pleasing to our Father!  We aim to do as John 3:30 states, “He must increase, but I must decrease.” Our goal is not to focus on ourselves, but to focus on the greatness of Christ!”   Philippians 2:5-11

EQUIP

“John 8:31 tells us that if we continue (obey) in the words of Christ then we are disciples “indeed” (no doubt).  Our goal at IBT is to train those in the church in the Word of God and encourage them to live as God’s Word instructs.  Not only will this help the believer grow in their faith, but it also will encourage them to reach the “lost” for Christ. Our aim is to teach the believer to be a defender of the Christian faith and to be passionate about sharing their faith.”

ENGAGE

“According to Matthew 28:18-20 we are to go into all the world with the good news of Jesus Christ!   Currently we have over 30 foreign mission works that we financially support on a monthly basis but we also desire to reach our local community.  We financially support 5 local ministries and have 3 free community events each year with the purpose of sharing the love of Christ to our neighbors.  These events are fun and designed to reach kids and families.  We desire to share God’s Word at all times but we also what to share life with people as well.  Sharing our lives will hopefully lead others to want new life through Jesus Christ!

Our Pastor

One of my favorite Bible verses is John 10:10. This verse states, “The thief cometh not, but for to steal, to kill, and to destroy: I am come that the might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.” I love this verse because it specifically tells us what the devil’s plan is and what God’s plan is. The devil’s goal is to steal, kill and destroy and he seems to be doing a great job at that. However, God sent Jesus into the world to give us abundant life and to be made free from the death-grip of satan. My goal, and the goal for The Indianapolis Baptist Temple, is to tell people about freedom and new life with Jesus Christ! We also equip God’s disciples to reach our community for Him. If you are looking for a church like this please come visit and be a part of what God is doing on the Southside of Indy!

Vantage Point – Trusting God with our past

Joseph’s Family Problems:

  • Jacob’s favoritism to Rachel/Joseph led to family strife. Jacob learned this trait from his parents
    • Genesis 37:3
    • Colossians 3:21
  • His mother’s death giving birth to Benjamin – 35:16-20 (I wonder if Benjamin felt guilt over this?)
  • The brother’s envy turned to hatred and ended up selling Joseph into slavery and deceiving …

John the Baptist was by all accounts an interesting man!  His birth, recorded in Luke 1, was miraculous, given the age of his parents (Luke 1:7) and was similar to the birth of Isaac (Genesis 17, 21).  He lived in the desert most of his life (Luke 1:80), dressed in leather and camel hair clothing and ate locusts and wild honey for his food (Matthew …

Hey everyone I have a question for you…

Have you ever been lost?  For example, have you ever been driving along and then realize that you’re lost and not sure where to go?  Or have you ever been hiking in the woods and gotten confused on how to get back out?  Or forgotten where you parked your car at the mall on the busiest day of the year and can’t find it?  Maybe you are direct …

I am sure that all of you remember the old phrase, “Sticks and stones may break my bones, but words will never hurt me!” I remember saying that as a little kid to someone as a way of showing them that no matter what they said, it wouldn’t affect me Even though I said that line, the truth is that I would be hurt by the words that were said and I just used that phrase as a way to cover my emotions and anger! …
