I’m New

New to IBT? We’re thrilled!
Let’s get to know eachother.

EXALT

“In everything we do, we desire to exalt Jesus Christ!  We determine to preach the Word of God correctly and live by it!  We desire to be led by the Spirit of God and to live a life pleasing to our Father!  We aim to do as John 3:30 states, “He must increase, but I must decrease.” Our goal is not to focus on ourselves, but to focus on the greatness of Christ!”   Philippians 2:5-11

EQUIP

“John 8:31 tells us that if we continue (obey) in the words of Christ then we are disciples “indeed” (no doubt).  Our goal at IBT is to train those in the church in the Word of God and encourage them to live as God’s Word instructs.  Not only will this help the believer grow in their faith, but it also will encourage them to reach the “lost” for Christ. Our aim is to teach the believer to be a defender of the Christian faith and to be passionate about sharing their faith.”

ENGAGE

“According to Matthew 28:18-20 we are to go into all the world with the good news of Jesus Christ!   Currently we have over 30 foreign mission works that we financially support on a monthly basis but we also desire to reach our local community.  We financially support 5 local ministries and have 3 free community events each year with the purpose of sharing the love of Christ to our neighbors.  These events are fun and designed to reach kids and families.  We desire to share God’s Word at all times but we also what to share life with people as well.  Sharing our lives will hopefully lead others to want new life through Jesus Christ!

Our Pastor

One of my favorite Bible verses is John 10:10. This verse states, “The thief cometh not, but for to steal, to kill, and to destroy: I am come that the might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.” I love this verse because it specifically tells us what the devil’s plan is and what God’s plan is. The devil’s goal is to steal, kill and destroy and he seems to be doing a great job at that. However, God sent Jesus into the world to give us abundant life and to be made free from the death-grip of satan. My goal, and the goal for The Indianapolis Baptist Temple, is to tell people about freedom and new life with Jesus Christ! We also equip God’s disciples to reach our community for Him. If you are looking for a church like this please come visit and be a part of what God is doing on the Southside of Indy!

Message From Matt | January 11, 2018

My earliest memory of doing something bold was when I was around 7 years old with the kid across the street named Billy.  Billy thought he was the king of the block and one day he and a few of his friends came across the street to show me how tough he was and I assume how weak I was.  Being that this was nearly 40 years ago, I don’t remember all of the details, but what I remember is that he …

One of my favorite passages in the OT is found in 2 Chronicles 20.  This chapter gives the account of 3 different armies that threatened to wipe out King Jehoshaphat and the people of Judah!  I’m not sure how many  were on the side of the enemy, but I do know that it was enough to cause fear for King Jehoshaphat and his people.   Look what the following verses have to s …

Our family usually spends most New Year’s Eve nights watching the ball drop in New York City.  I don’t always like the entertainment surrounding that event but I have always liked watching the clock tick down on the old year which also brings in the new year!  To me,  this New Year’s celebration is a special thing to watch as it’s nostalgia and anticipation all wrapped into one event. &nbs …
