I’m New

New to IBT? We’re thrilled!
Let’s get to know eachother.

“In everything we do, we desire to exalt Jesus Christ!  We determine to preach the Word of God correctly and live by it!  We desire to be led by the Spirit of God and to live a life pleasing to our Father!  We aim to do as John 3:30 states, “He must increase, but I must decrease.” Our goal is not to focus on ourselves, but to focus on the greatness of Christ!”   Philippians 2:5-11

“John 8:31 tells us that if we continue (obey) in the words of Christ then we are disciples “indeed” (no doubt).  Our goal at IBT is to train those in the church in the Word of God and encourage them to live as God’s Word instructs.  Not only will this help the believer grow in their faith, but it also will encourage them to reach the “lost” for Christ. Our aim is to teach the believer to be a defender of the Christian faith and to be passionate about sharing their faith.”

“According to Matthew 28:18-20 we are to go into all the world with the good news of Jesus Christ!   Currently we have over 30 foreign mission works that we financially support on a monthly basis but we also desire to reach our local community.  We financially support 5 local ministries and have 3 free community events each year with the purpose of sharing the love of Christ to our neighbors.  These events are fun and designed to reach kids and families.  We desire to share God’s Word at all times but we also what to share life with people as well.  Sharing our lives will hopefully lead others to want new life through Jesus Christ!

Our Pastor

One of my favorite Bible verses is John 10:10. This verse states, “The thief cometh not, but for to steal, to kill, and to destroy: I am come that the might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.” I love this verse because it specifically tells us what the devil’s plan is and what God’s plan is. The devil’s goal is to steal, kill and destroy and he seems to be doing a great job at that. However, God sent Jesus into the world to give us abundant life and to be made free from the death-grip of satan. My goal, and the goal for The Indianapolis Baptist Temple, is to tell people about freedom and new life with Jesus Christ! We also equip God’s disciples to reach our community for Him. If you are looking for a church like this please come visit and be a part of what God is doing on the Southside of Indy!

Growing Faith

The Goal:

To develop into the man or woman of God that He designed us to be

The Process: Step oneis realizing what is God’s work and what is our responsibility. Knowing this means that we won’t be frustrated by trying to fix outcomes in our lives or the lives of others because any good outcome comes from God.  Our responsibility is to be faithful to Him and His Word. Step twois keeping our eyes on Christ, not the people an …

You might find this hard to believe, but when I was younger,  loved Iwatching wrestling!  Not the real wrestling but the fake stuff from the World Wrestling Federation (WWF).  I grew up watching it on Saturday mornings and loved Dick the Bruiser, Hulk Hogan, Ric Flair, “Macho Man” Randy Savage, and Ricky the Dragon Steamboat!  I liked the WWF so much that when I was 19 years old I bought a 3rd row ticket to the 1992 Wrestle …

Breaking Free!
Have you heard the story about Jayme Closs in Wisconsin?  I have and all  I can say is that it’s an amazing story of survival!   On October 15th, Jake Thomas Patterson, age 21, decided to kill Jayme’s parents, kidnap her and take her to his cabin about an hour away from her home.  There, for 88 days, he kept her locked up, many times under a bed for hours at a time.  When people would come over to his house to visit, he w …

The Resistance!
Last week I wrote “What Satan Attacks” that outlined the things in your life that the devil wants to attack.  I only gave three things (your faith, peace and purpose) but we all know that he will use any means necessary to kill, steal and destroy our lives (John 10:10), not just these three things.  I ended the message with three things that we can do to …
